The premonition prompted me to spend the day working on a slow-motion video that I\u2019d thought about but never found time to produce: I wrapped myself in a black sheet and leapt into a swimming pool again and again, letting my movement express the dance between life and dissolution.<br \/>\nTwo months later, I nearly died from a ruptured brain aneurysm. It has been a long struggle to cope with the cognitive changes that resulted from this injury; I often feel that my old self has dissolved completely.<br \/>\nI recently re-interpreted the slow-motion videos as a series of still images called \u201cDissolution,\u201d each expressing one of the moods that overtook me during my recovery. \u201cDissolution #62: Resistance\u201d comes from the strength of knowing my own resilience.<br \/>\nThis image is in the exhibit by the Women\u2019s Caucus for Art of Georgia.
