We’ve got a workshop just for you coming up this year.

And we take great care to make it COVID-safe (details here).

Kilncarving: Sculpted glass

Create a sculptured look in glass with the technique of kilncarving. In this workshop, you’ll learn to cut and layer fiber paper and felt to make an image or pattern. You will create two 6″x6″ pieces, one in transparent and one in opaque iridized glass. No glass experience required.

Batik-style glass

Make two unique pieces while learning to create batik designs in glass. In this workshop, you will apply a freestyle sgraffito technique to complete two projects: a 5” x 9” dish and a 6” square dish. Your pieces will then be fired and ready for pick-up the following week. No glass or drawing experience required.

Other workshops in the first half of the year will include:

February – Sandbed panels – Capture your most playful and spontaneous self by working in our unique sandbed kiln. Create organic textures and dynamic designs in the sand, add shapes or figures, and carve them into glass panels.

March – Open-face casting – Design a sculptural form in clay, then make a plaster mold to cast it in glass. This intensive two-day workshop will give you the fundamental skills of casting.

April – Sandbed casting – A texture-rich surface becomes 3D sculpture when you cast glass in boxed forms on the sandbed.

May – Coldworking – A refined glass artwork needs cutting, grinding and polishing to give it a professional finish. Learn the tools of the trade in this key skills workshop.

June – Pot melts – Globs of glass can be cast from a pot onto a shelf to make gorgeous images. Try your hand at this serendipitous technique.

We can make our schedule fit yours!

For a get-together with friends, or a special-occasion event, come and play in the studio. You can make wind chimes, a fused-glass bowl, or glass bling pendants in a single session.

You can also request any of the above workshops for a group of 4 to 6 people. Call Lisa at 706-669-9933.
